Deepayan is an Associate Professor in the IROM department at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas, Austin.
He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computational and Statistical Learning from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005, after a B.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur in 2000.
He subsequently worked at Yahoo! Research and Facebook (Ads and Data Science), before joining the University of Texas, Austin in 2014.
He has authored around 60 peer-reviewed publications, 20 patents, 3 book chapters, and 1 book, and has offered tutorials on the statistical and algorithmic aspects of computational advertising at several venues.
He works on a broad range of problems in machine learning, including large graph mining, recommendation systems, computational advertising, search and information retrieval.
